2005 Driftwood Prius for sale Long Island, NY

    I have been asking $23,500, but have not received any replies. I am posting on craigslist, cars.com, priusonline and here. I also placed a sign on the car not listing a price and have received no calls. I am begining to think there is not much of a market for this car on Long island. The bluebook value is listed as $25,300. If anyone has input as to what used fully loaded prius's are actually selling for or if Long Island is simply not popular territory for this car, Please post here or email me. Thank you.

    Book value is just a guide not law. I paid $25,696 for a new 2006 and with the tax credit of $3150 my new car will have cost me less than your used one. Not trying to insult you but that's just the way it is.

    I didn't consider the tax credit, so in a sense your saying because of the tax credit and since I bought the car before the credit was in effect, the prius has the lowest resale of all cars at this point in time, As it would need to be sold for over $3,000 less than blue book value making the car lose approximately $5,000 value in a year and a half.

    Did you check with an accountant about getting tax credit for the purchase of your Prius? I bought a 2004 and received a tax deduction.

    I think that it is possible for you to still get some deduction for this, even with it being for a prior year. I think there may be 3 years to amend your federal tax return. There are also some state incentives, including for New York.

    By the way, why are you trying to sell such a wonderful car?
