got tech stream and no codes ,at times very poor accelerate almost wont go and when this happens batt indicator is at 25% ,today made 200 trip happen 1 time ,later when batt light was almost 100% got 52 mpg also where do I look ??
Please post the 19, traction battery voltages so we can see how well balanced they are. Also the traction battery temperatures. No stored codes? Was the 12V power-on, reset? Bob Wilson
I copied that from this thread, Unable to determine the cause of the triangle warning | PriusChat . To get to the battery live data first run a Techstream Health Check. From the results screen click on the HV Battery category and from there the data list. Please share the the results of this test. Brad
First Gen Prius have a reputation for clogging up their air throttle plates with gunk. Have a look, and consider cleaning the mass airflow sensor while you have access.
The 5th line is IB Main Battery and is measured in amps. This shows if the battery was under discharge or charge when the data was collected. Your value is -0.07 amps which is basically the battery at rest. The resting module voltages are very closely grouped but that does not show the whole story. Capture the data again with the battery under charge and discharge. Then you will have data to compare. Brad
Park so the front tires are against a curb (and nothing beyond.) Put the car in "D", hold the brake and floor the accelerator and you'll be doing a 'forced charge'. Take your measurement. Park so the rear tires are against a curb (and nothing beyond.) Put the car in "R" and floor the accelerator. The car is in maximum reverse load, take your measurement. GOOD LUCK and be careful! Practice first before trying to make measurements. Bob Wilson
You have a healthy traction battery: First 3 temps are normal and close to 4th (inlet) - a failing battery shows a hot spot and these are good Min/Max voltage range, 17.01-16.88 = 0.13V < 0.3V Toyota limit Notice how the end modules show higher voltage than the middle, this is normal wear pattern You have a healthly transaxle: 87C (Water Temp Meter) > 56C (MG1) > 49C (MG2) Well done! Save this file as a reference in case something goes 'boink' in the future. Bob Wilson
Well thanks Bob ,but with no other codes ,still dont know why feels like has no power and when this happens the batt light or gauge is like 25%,cant really give to my daughter yet ,next time it happens will pull over and hold down brake and let the batt go back up and see if this is it ??
Next time the car acts up fire up Techstream and record a new set of data. You should still run the discharge side of the test but your battery does appear to be in good shape. Brad
It sounds like a limp home mode. Accelerator? Code would help but we may be able to check by recording the two accelerator voltages. I have noticed the voltage will wander. Bob Wilson
