I'm tired of hooking up the computer to clear the same codes. Sometimes I don't get codes for months. At other times, I'll get 2 in 2 days. Seems to depend on the temperature, temperature change and humidity. I heard of using key turn cycles to clear the codes. How does this work? How many times do I have to turn the car on/off? Also, do I actually have to start the car and put it into ready mode or do I just need to turn to the "ON" position without actually starting the car?
For a transient, three times will suppress the check engine light but the code(s) remain in memory. Bob Wilson
It's the red triangle, not CEL. Also, do I turn key to on 3 times, or do I need to actually start the car into ready mode 3 times?
