So I have a 2001 Toyota Prius. So I have a really weird problem. The card seems to run and drive just fine and then about once a day all the sudden while I'm cruising down the road I get an error code. And then it'll still go but it loses most of its power. It can barely get up to speed. Stopped at an automotive store in the ran the card reader and it gave it an error code of P3191 but it wasn't an active error code. It just was a stored error code. So I thought with the warning lights flashing it should give the current error code. Maybe I could be wrong? Anyways, did some research on that error code fixed most of what I could that I thought could be the problem. So put a new spark plugs, New PCV valve, clean the throttle body, New air filter, and I even put in a new 12 volt battery and after all that I still get the error code. So I ended up bringing it to a mechanic and they told me everything seemed to be working fine except for it was they thought the problem was the fuel pump and the gas tank which kind of seemed unrelated, but I'm not the most knowledgeable I guess? They told me they had to change out the fuel pump and the gas tank and that was going to be $2,600 which I passed on right then because I just wasn't sure. I was maybe thinking it was just bad gas and I could put different gas in it with some fuel cleaner but I really don't know? Do you have to change the fuel pump and the gas tank? Is it all one unit? Also, when I get the error code I can turn the car off for a couple minutes and then the error code goes away and it drives fine so I'm a bit lost if I'm being honest
