    Hello,
I drained the cvt fluid, removed the pan, cleaned the screen & magnet and reinstalled but I am not sure exactly how much fluid goes back in. Anyone know for sure?

4.9 US quarts of Toyota ATF T-IV. Just fill until the new fluid starts to come out of the fill hole, then you are done.

The usual design of transaxles and transmissions that have a fill hole is that you fill until you reach the bottom of the fill hole.

thats interesting,I just changed mine today and am I glad I did. I do not know if it was ever changed brefore and the car has 184k on it. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago and i am replacing the 2 battery modules that it needs and a good tune up. Any how I took the pan off and it had quite a lot of metal and copper shavings in the oil. I am pretty nervous about that, but it has been working so hopefully I got it changed in time.. And yes I agree with Patrick Wong,it took about 5 qt. of t-iv .
