    JUST GOT CAR WILL START UP WITH FULLY CHARGED 12V BATTERY;
    WILL RUN AND DRIVE. IF IGNITION IS SHUT OFF HAVE TO WAIT FOR HOUR OR MORE TO START AGAIN. MAIN BATTERY ICON IS SHOWING ON MONITOR. THE SCREEN SHOWING THE ENERGY TRANSFER FROM ENGINE OR HYBRID THE BATTERY INDICATOR IS ONLY SHOWING ABOUT THE LOWER 1/4 WITH GREEN BARS. IS THERE A WAY TO BRING THIS CHARGE LEVEL UP OTHER THAN DRIVING? CAR HAS SAT FOR SOME TIME AND I FEEL MAIN BATTERY HAS DISCHARGED FROM NON-USAGE. HAVE CHANGED 12V BATTERY WITH SAME RESULTS. WHEN FIRST DRIVING A SLIGHT SHUDDER WHEN TRANSMISSION IS PULLING (AS UP AN INCLINE). INVERTER RESERVOIR IS AT LOW LINE LEVEL, PLAN TO ADD SME TOYOTA LLC
    TO BRING TO MAX LEVEL. WHERE DO YOU CHECK LEVEL FOR TRANS AXLE FLUID LEVEL? ANY HELP APPRECIATED. THANKS!:confused:

    Is there a reason WHY YOU ARE SHOUTING? TYPING IN ALL CAPS is considered poor netiquette and is equivalent to SHOUTING.

    Yes. Make the Prius READY, shift to D, press hard on the brake pedal with your left foot, and floor the accelerator pedal with your right foot. Since the car can't move, engine power is diverted into MG1 which will quickly charge the traction battery.

    The Classic SOC gauge normally will show 50% or 75%. If it shows any other reading that is a good sign that the traction battery is having a problem. Maybe if you charge it, that will help - or maybe you'll find it is necessary to replace the battery.

    Regarding the transaxle ATF fluid level, you need to find the fill plug located on the side of the transaxle case facing the radiator, and remove it. The fluid level should be at the bottom of the plug opening, no more than 5 mm below that opening.

    It is likely that the fluid needs to be drained and replaced. If you do so then you should also remove the transaxle oil pan so that the muck within can be cleaned off.

    I agree that it would help the appearance of your posts if you would use capitalized letters only where necessary, as well as paragraphs to separate your various questions. Good luck.
