    Hi!
After my dreams to switch to 15" wheels seem to be over, I thought about changing out the stock silver inserts. The brochure shows black, gold and blue - I'd be interested in the black or blue.
    But they are £350 ($450!).
Are there different colours and different prices around the world?
Can they be switched yourself, or to avoid scuffing and them falling out, should a Toyota dealer do the job?
    Cheers, Ben

Pull them off and then paint them yourself? For a couple hrs of labor and a rattle can you save yourself probably like $440...

    ;)

Yeah - we have a Porsche & performance car paint and body shop next door at work.
In the interests of keeping my care pure stock and Toyota legit, I was keen to have best price OEM.
If the price is always going to be unreasonable, then I will look elsewhere.
I was thinking about the blue, as it goes with the Toyota hybrid badging, the black as it would turn the wheels full black gloss.
If I'm paying a third party, I wonder how easy the blizzard pearl would be to match - and if that would be just too much white?

Okay, i get the silence now - this option doesnt appear to be available on Toyotas in the USA....!
We have the choice of replacing the silver parts of the alloy wheels with black, gold or light blue instead.

Ah, these dont seem to be a US option. Over here the stock silver inserts can be switched for gold, black or blue

    Art is art.
    Pick the color you like.

Perhaps Photoshop software could be useful in your decision.

    Have fun.

I have printed off 4 pics from "build your Prius" on the Toyota site - sadly all low res images.
The blue are most eye catching, but possibly simply as they are the most contrasting. I like how they tie in with the blue hybrid badging. Black look good, but people say they make your wheels appear smaller. It's a lot of money though, just after splashing out on vanity plates for her, gonna be a hard sell to get signed off by the boss!

I'm thinking the white would always look dirty. It would be cool if you could get them chrome plated.

Yes! I think you can get a chrome wrap. I believe they are plastic, i will see if thats something they do. As one of the regular customers is a fully chrome wrapped Rolls Royce, it may be an option. ..

The dirty rats! I wrote (without spaces) www. Toyota. Co. Uk - looks like they virus the writing of it into an advert...

I'm not sure, but I believe you need to remove the wheel from the car, and then it's a lot easier, or the only way possible. There's some clips on the back you need to pinch to release?

I played around with colors in photoshop. Some have silver wheels instead of black, easy enough to paint them or powder coat.

Nice work! I keep thinking about the blue inserts...i honestly cant tell if they'll look awesome or naff though...! In my low res print out, the blue stand out more than the gold, silver or black - but is that simply as they are the most contrasting, or my favourite...?!
I wonder if they become discounted in future, as so far i havent seen anyone with colour inserts other than stock silver...

^ I should probably add. Those are painted Bishop Blue Metallic. Matching the blue in the hybrid badge. It looks like I need to wrap or pin-strip a little to help set the blue off.
