15” wheels on a v

I think you'd have to fit them to be sure. The issue with wheel fitment is generally whether the wheel will contact the brakes. You may know this already, but the V doesn't share wheels with the standard Prius. Standard Prius has a 5 x 100 bolt pattern, the V is 5 x 114.3.

The 5 x 100 pattern is common with compact Toyotas: Yaris, Corolla, etc.
The 5 x 114.3 pattern is common with midsize Toyotas: Camry, RAV4, etc.

 

You'd also need to keep in mind load ratings for the tires. In general, smaller tires have lower load ratings. The v is roughly 300 lbs heavier than the regular hatchback, which has 15 inch wheels on everything but the top of the line level five.

15” Tires are a great idea , if I had a v I would run 15’s if I could.

I would not worry about weight rating, my Diesel suburban runs 15” wheels and is about twice the weight of the v, just run higher PSI in the tire if you select a smaller OD than your stock wheels.

There are websites that list the stud spacing, offset, rims and tires for all cars . You can search for what models share your lugs, my guess is honda/Hyundai are likely suspects.

If you can find a U PULL junkyard lookup a car that uses your lug spacing with a rim you want, break out $25 and test the rim on your car.

My guess is 15’s would fit the rear but not the front unless you can find a rim that has a lot of negative offset.

Generally the only rims like that (negative offset) are extremely heavy space saver spares. (15” Steel space saver rims are very strong but about twice the weight of a similar alloy rim)

I have had all space saver rims on my Cobalt with 14” Re92’s and actually they worked great, just a little ugly until I painted them with a pattern of rust oleum hammered steel paint.

Good luck with the search. I got lucky and got an almost new set of mounted winter tires/wheels on CL from a former Prius V owner -- so I knew the fit was fine.

Post back with what you get and what they came from. It's always good to know what will fit from other makes/models.

 

the 16" oem alloys on the V barely fit the rear brake calipers, only about a pinky space inbetween rim and brake caliper

15" steel rims may fit as they are thinner than the oem 16" alloys, but check the rear as they are the likely causing fitment issues.

front has plenty of space with 16" alloys
