I have a 2014 Prius. It just hit 100k. I am wondering what kind of maintenance service I should get, and what I should ask them. I am not much of a handyman when it comes to cars. I wanna make sure I check things before they break. I am particularly worried about the Hybrid cooling fan filter that I never touched. Should I get it cleaned? Anything else? Please advise.

Also if anyone is in the Bay Area, California, and knows a reliable place to get these done- please suggest. Any idea about the cost would be great too.

Have you looked in the Toyota USA Warranty and Maintenance Booklet? If it's missing you can download a pdf, one source being Toyota Tech Info website, under the "Manuals" tab.

In a nutshell, it's the usual oil/filter change and tire rotation, plus engine coolant change.

Note: at first glance it would be to be inverter coolant change as well, but if you follow footnote 3, it say to delay that till 150K miles.

    That aside:

    1. have you ever had an in-depth inspection of the brakes? Not just the visual inspection, an in-depth, calipers off the rotors, inspect, clean and relube? Toyota recommends every 3 years or 30k miles for this, but it seems to be widely ignored. Worthwhile.

    2. Brake fluid replacement. Toyota USA says nothing, Toyota Canada says every 3 years or 30K miles (48K kms), take your pick?

    3. Transaxle fluid. Neither Toyota USA or Canada says anything on the subject, but it's worthwhile.

    4. EGR cleaning including intake manifold. Now is VERY good time to do this; I wouldn't delay. I'd say why, but don't want to ruffle feathers. More info in top two links in my signature. If you're on a phone, turn it landscape to see signatures.

    5. Cleaning the hybrid battery fan is a good idea, especially if you have pets in the car frequently. @NutzAboutBolts has a video on it. The only exception I'd take: they recommend to pull of the the rear seat bottom. That's really not necessary; there's one bolt you need to remove, just below the fan inlet grill, and it's not hard to reach with an extension, just pushing apart the seat bottom and back.
