When the mpg guage jumps to 100mpg and you are above 42mph, what is the the ICE doing, I don't have a scanguage yet. Is the ICE still spinning with the fuel injectors shut off???
    thanks

    It depends.

If your SOC is fairly high (60%) and you are in a glide or coast then above 46mph the ICE is spinning but no fuel is being delivered (9999mpg). If your SOC is low (45%) then the ICE is on and fuel is being use to charge the HV battery and your fuel economy is around 150mpg. There a re a lot of situations where you are just cruising at a low speed above 46mph but you are traveling slightly downhill and your iMPG is 100+ but the factory display only goes to 99.9 so you don't know exactly what is going on. Having a Scangauge or the Torque app is very helpful. For us hypermilers, 99.9mpg just isn't enough and doesn't tell the whole story. There is a world of difference between 101mpg and 9999mpg. :)
