100,000 mile club (Gen 4)

Geeez, I'd sure like to see some members with 200-300k miles ! Guess that's going to take a minute with the Gen 4's, but I mean seriously, I'll have 100k in less than two years, and I'd be pretty let down if I had to replace the battery already !

In fact, I'm selling my Hyundai Accent today (to one of those business that will give you a low price just to get rid of it) and it has just shy of 200k miles. Sad thing is, it runs like a top ! ...but won't pass smog ☹️ In Cali, this is about a $1200 job...... And to me, not worth it, for a car which could have other major problems in short order.

 

True, and you did say Gen 4's. Im curious though, were the Gen 3's a lot different ? Id even be interested in Gen 3's that had gotten 200-300k... I mean, Id be really happy if I could get 300K, because by then (5 or 6 years) Id almost certainly be getting an all electric.... with a 500 mile range

I got our 2010 to 200k miles and it was still going strong .

I do about 25k miles a year, so our Prime will be there in about 4 years.

 

Just hit 100k a few weeks ago! It was a rainy night in the Bronx, as you can see in the photo...

2017 Prius 4 - Original owner - Purchased Dec 2016 (about 34 months)

Have not replaced anything. Has required very little maintenance. Take it to dealer every 100,000 miles for oil change and tire rotation, and usually that is all they do. Just now at 100k service I had the following done: drain and fill engine coolant, hybrid coolant exchange, transmission fluid drain and fill. At 50k I had brake caliper service and AC vent service. Changed the tires at 70k for Bridgestone Ecopia - not by the dealer. That's it - no other maintenance or repairs.

Main issue I have is that 2 of my automatic door locks are problematic. The driver front doesn't work at all anymore (SUPER ANNOYING), and rear passenger doesn't work from time to time. I'm told approx $500 per door to fix.

Lifetime MPG is 56.6. It would be better if I didn't have to deal with the winter in New York since using the heater kills the mileage, especially when the air temp gets below around 40 degrees.

I've been super happy with the car...

Got a good jump on 200k - in the last 2 weeks I have driven from New York to Ohio twice and now from New York down to Florida, so I'm at about 105k now...

 

I recently transferred my 2009 to my son when I got a 2017. My son isn't keeping records and analyzing the data as well as I did.
I had it up to 220 Mm. Total consumption was 5.55 l/100km. Not bad considering all the winters it went through. Of course I had a block heater, but I was too lazy to use it too often. I think the scangauge was the accessory that boosted the fuel economy the most.
I changed the transaxle fluid at 50 Mm and 150 Mm. And the non synthetic engine oil every 8 Mm. Never changed the hv battery, but the first 12v battery lasted only a bit over 6 years.
I didn't like the original tires much...goodyear integrities. Too noisy. Switched to Bridgestone ecopia ep100s for summer and blizzaks for winter. Likely should have changed both of those sets out earlier, but now my son doesn't have to worry about tires for a bit... he's got micheline defenders for summer and micheline x-ice for winter on a separate set of rims that I bought not that long ago. By the way, all these numbers are approximate because my records went with the car and I don't have it anymore.

(Speaking of tires ... the ep-422s on the 2017 are excessively noisy. Looking forward to putting the x-ice on soon for winter because that'll likely be quieter! I don't know if I'll be able to keep the ep422s on all next summer. They're driving me crazy)

Thanks for sharing, just bought a 2016 a couple of weeks ago, 27,500 miles. I will be putting 30k - year so in 2.50yrs I will be hitting 100k probably in 2022. Car will be turning 6 yrs old

 

I had my rear driver Door Lock Actuator go as well. 95 bucks on eBay and i swapped it myself. Not very difficult.

Certainly not a vehicle I'd buy second-hand. A potential disaster.

 

i have 112k now bougt it used with 90k,. surprised and happy by engine not needed to add oil between changes which already did twice each 10k with mobile 0w20. disapointed with very thin windshield, cracked twice in 5 months period. had an issue in the summer when car was not reacting at begining of drive when on electric mode, was there for about two weeks, happened about 10 times and nothing since than, milage average now is about 55 fwy, but at summer went down to 42 when a/c at its highest level non stop for about 4 months.
i have yet to overcome the EGR nightmares im still having with my prior 2013 prius, always on the alert.

 

Is this a Two or Two Eco? My Two has been fine even when we thought it should break. The Two Eco windshield was supposed to absorb more heat, if I recall correctly.

 

its a two, it broke exactly at same place other owners mentioned, bottom right side (passanger) started at the bottom under the windshield wiper and creeped its way to the drivers side, later there were two more crack lines,

 

Hmmm. My Two purchased in October 2016 has been fine. I wonder if there is a quality control or supplier issue.
