just curious what is real world 0-60, assuming a full EV battery? feels like i can get up to 60 faster than 10.7s quoted by motor trend

another case where EV complicates a seemingly simple age old metric. 10.9 feels too long to me so perhaps it's tested under blended or pure HV, no EV at all. i wonder which would have faster time... a 2012 Prius vs. PiP with full EV (both power mode)?
This is a guess based on my last Acura TL that did it under 8 seconds, I would put the PiP in EV and just floor is in power mode with a warm engine is around 9 seconds. It's peppier than I thought it would be.
Remember that all the modes are irrelevant once you floor the pedal. However, in my experience, using power mode in EV has made it easier for me to avoid inadvertent ICE starts.
Can you really do this in EV mode? Sure, you might start in EV mode, but the ICE is sure to kick on. Mike
Or you could just get Accelerometer - Android Apps on Google Play.. and Car Performance Free - Android Apps on Google Play.. or just a friend and a stopwatch...
The problem is WHERE do you do this? You need basically an empty parking lot long enough to let you accelerate and then come to a stop.
Yes you can. Just keep the power bar in the middle zone on the HSI. You can go up to 62 on pure EV with no ICE.
Which is what makes this number all the more interesting! Honestly though you'd have to build a (simple) robot to do this. An actuator to press the gas pedal and a camera to monitor the HSI level.
Here was my attempt when I first got my car (although only 0-50). This was my 2nd try. On the 1st try, I got into the PWR zone and started the ICE.. Watching this video now, I think I can do much better, esp in ECO mode
Two questions: Where did you do this? And I actually find power mode easier. In Eco mode I find myself pressing too hard and inadvertently starting ice. Normal mode is okay, but power mode is now my standard one for EV driving.
I guess I should have been more clear...can you really do this and get the ~10 sec time for 0-60? Mike
oh of course not tracksyde got 20 seconds to go to 50, kind of slow, but i suspect you can probably get 15 or 16 if you just keep the bar a little closer to the PWR zone.
