    When does the darn gas warning light come on?

    As everyone has stated, you'll hear a short beep and the last pip will flash. When this happen to me, my trip miles to empty indicated 33 miles.

    Question - Is there supposed to be a warning beep if you leave the headlights on?

    Now, if you don't want to wait 30 seconds, just use your key fob to lock the doors and the headlights will turn off as well.
