What year is the gen3? 2010 and 2011 can have some issues after 125k. You probably won't get much if you sell the gen2 so might be smart to keep...

If you aren't going to install fog lights, painting or plasti-dipping them black looks really sharp. It's a cheap/easy upgrade.
