Yes, I find the car warms much quicker, and gets the windshield defrosting much quicker. I was wondering... If I accidentally leave the heater...
Love my new Prius. I live at 8000 feet and it gets cooooold some winter nights, so I decided after reading some threads here to buy and fit an...
You're quite right, MG2 does move proportional to vehicle speed. Thanks, I'm learning.
I have not seen that behavior of MG2. It will often indicate zero at any speed depending on MG1 and ICE RPMs.
Latest update - includes Traction Battery Temp in top left corner and Hybrid Synergy Drive Current Flow in center of ICE RPM Gauge. [ATTACH]
Update: The BLE dongle arrived, I plugged it in and changed the OBD Fusion connection setting to BLE and it worked just like that. Perfect.
I just ordered this. I'll let you know! LELink Bluetooth Low Energy BLE OBD-II OBD2 Car Diagnostic Tool For iPhone/iPod/iPad From Amazon Q&A on...
It's called "OBD Fusion". It's rather good fun. You need an OBD dongle and a smart phone. My OBD Dongle is wifi but I wish I had gotten a...

How do you know the RPM limitations for MG1 & 2? Can you point me to that info please? Thanks
So... I have been out with the OBD running on some hills. If you slip into N with EV mode lit, the car will coast with the ICE off to whatever...
Thanks again Fuzzy1. I'm getting it now. I love the comparative complexity of this car, makes it all the more fun to drive. I found a fun app,...
OK. I programmed an OBD app on my phone to read out MG1 and MG2 rpm. If you go over 42 ish in N with the ICE off you overspeed MG1. So don't.
From what I have understood, you can go as fast as you want in N with the ICE off, but you have to get below 42 mph before going into D or you'll...
I found this in an earlier thread: "...there is a speed limit for MG1 that the ICE needs to be running to prevent overspeed. That is why the ICE...

^ That's very interesting info, thanks fuzzy1. Do you know how I might go about finding a definitive answer?
^Yes, but in this case, the hill is a little too gentle to keep the car moving along in D. In N however, she flies along, and makes it the 7 miles...
