Tried a partial removal.there's no way to secure or tighten the bumper cover.it just needs to go on ..sucky

This post saved me a trip to the dealership. I did the same thing and shorted the homelink mirror. Swapped out IGN2 in the driver side fuse box...
Also, if you short the homelink mirror connection for whatever reason, you'll have to replacethe 10A IGN2 fuse in the driver side compartment....
