Hello Ed. Now finally to get back to the original subject. Since it is never serviced and not stocked I thought I would try going w/o the filter. Took it for a test drive, drives fine. I am experiencing less than usual mpg, not much, 3-5 mpg, I put it down to the usual things. It could also be a problem in that filter area still, so I will experiment. If no improvement then I will reinstall the filter.
