I've heard of this rarely on Gen II's but I seem to be the only Gen III poster that has an off-color rear bumper. Black 2010 Prius, problem confirmed by dealer (he offered to send it to a paint shop, I told him we'll deal with it in a few months). Anyone else? BTW I have two black 2010's now, and the other has no issue.
No issue here. One possibility is that the rear bumper got damaged after leaving the factory and it was re-painted in the wrong color. One forum member discovered (through MyToyota service records) that the hood of his car was damaged and painted over after the fact.

Did you buy your Prius from the States? What happened to your '06?? Not sure. I know my Tideland Pearl bumpers are slightly off-colour but that's only because I know it's plastic vs. metal (same issue with the Titanium Silver Camry) but it's very very subtle and only at certain angles. Haven't seen much of it on the Blue Ribbon.
Yes I bought this Prius from the States. It was the only way to get the AT package with LED headlamps, foglights and SOS. I've commented before on the moronic decision to give Canadians a sunroof with the AT package instead of LED's, foglights and SOS. The only way to get the best Prius for Canada* is to import one from the States..... figures.... The 06 went to a family member. It only had 26k on it after 3 years so it didn't make sense to sell it. *except for the few lucky ones that live in the Canadian Sonora Desert - The Osoyoos.
Sweet! Yeah I really hate the fact that LEDs are only available on the "Touring" model. Nice to have a loaded one look like the base model (at least to the general public). Ah well.. I ended up getting mine locally. C'est la vie. Well don't forget Toronto. They can make better use of the solar panels too.
My rear bumper is very slightly off color. I can see it in the sun. It is not noticeable to any on lookers if they are not looking for that. Back in 1970, I special ordered a Buick in white. I refused to take delivery because the color problem was three different shades. I am surprised that my V has that issue. but it not my Black GS which cost $20,000.00 more- Other than that, the quality is there. As on member said. the other two blacks are good. NO..... I am not going to have it painted or trade it for another. Once the factory paint is messed with.. your in for problems.
Why did you get rid of your Smart, didn't like the gas? Booger as my green 2005 Smarty is called, is still averaging 3.9l/100 while on B100 and 4.3 when she's on regular Diesel- and I can park it anywhere! Too bad it's bouncy and loud
