I picked up my new 2010 Pruis yesteday and on the way home I had problems with the Dynamic Cruise Control... I kept getting rhe master warning sign and sound with the message " Clean the radar sensor" My windshield was clean so I don't know how the sensor couldn't be clean too.... I turned off the cruise and eventually turned it back on.... it would work for a while and then the warning signal came back on ...happened many times on the 2 hour trip home... anyone one else have this problem?
I haven't had the problem you're describing however let me point out that the radar detector is not behind the windshield but behind the toyota emblem on the hood. Check and make sure there isn't some packing material behind the emblem blocking the sensor. Stu
The radar for DCC is located directly behind the front Toyota emblem. Try cleaning that and seeing if it looks funky or tampered with in some way. The camera is mostly for the lane departure warning and lane keep assist.
Thanks for the reply, I know that the sensor is behind the emblem but I was saying that my windshield didn't get dirty so how could the emblem be dirty??? I will check to see if there is any packing material left on or behind emblem. Thanks again
My car gets slashes and splots of junk on it all of the time. I have yet to witness a uniform distribution of dirt, so I wouldn't find it unusual to have a clean windshield and a dirty hood. Tom
