Oh btw, in relation to the other thread on the Alphard Hybrid. The Alphard Hybrid is using the 2AZ-FE engine for the hybrid system which means we may get a 4 cylinder Camry hybrid. Or even better, Toyota may offer both the 2AZ-FXE and the 3MZ-FXE version to better the Accord.

Huh? Toyota??? V6??? I always thought that a V6 hybrid is sort of counter-productive... it seems like the "true" hybrid crowd can't buy enough 4-cylinder hybrids and they are now going 6-cylinder??

Err, if you haven't been keeping track, the Highlander Hybrid and RX400h have 3.3 litre V6 mated to HSD. It's not counter-productive so to speak but it certainly isn't the most efficient way to go. However, driven like we drive our Prius, I'm certain it can match the Corolla's city mileage of 8.xL/100km. I averaged 9.0L/100km on the test drive.

Rookie, Toyota still has to compete, and if the copetition starts touting performance, then they will have to offer a competing product. Like it or not, power sells in the U.S. It's a big country with three big mountain ranges, and huge distances to cover.

It still looks like the new Avalon to me.

I was going to point out the Avalon comparison as well...but that makes sense that they would offer a less expensive "look alike" to the Avalon. I think it will do well for Toyota. The Camry was due for some kind of change anyways. I had often thought of buying the SE V6 Camry with all the bells and whistles, but kept saying to myself "it's just like any other Camry on the road" a sea of sameness I guess. Maybe this one will change peoples minds.

    Dave.

I don't like the updated SE V6. I prefer the 02-04 version. Also, I never knew it had orange backlit radio light. I always thought it was green like other Camrys and only the gauges had a different light.
