So, I know we have the option of setting up "warnings" for different maintenance services i.e. oil change, wiper fluids, etc. My questions is....
Is there an audible version that we can set our female voice to speak a warning so that we can hear it? I know I have set up my oil change warning for 5,000 mile increments. I just hit my first 4,500 miles and all I noticed was a red "maintenance required" light flashing on the dash....

Nope, all it does is beep and put up a banner indicating that a maintenance event has occured.

To top off the injury, you have to have the NAV system activated (pressed the I Agree soft button) each time you start a new trip. I don't think the Coastal "I Agree" killer would help much, as you still have to go to a NAV supported page for the I Agree screen to come up, in which the killer will quickly respond.

Are you sure about that? I just did a test of not hitting the I Agree button and at the beginning of the next trip, the mileage counters were right where they should be.

How did you get to the mileage counters of the maintenance without hitting "I Agree"?

If you do anything that is NAV dependent, you get the "I agree" page if you haven't yet done so from when you last powered on (to at least ACC). Once you hit "I Agree" for any NAV function, it won't bring it up for any (even different) NAV function until you recycle power.

The programmable scheduled maintenance is a NAV feature.
What I find annoying that if I select a function other than map and get the "I Agree" page, it often (not always) reverts to MAP, and I have to select the desired function AGAIN! This includes destination, maintenance, etc.
Not sure if it affects BT features though, even though it too is NAV dependent.

I didn't go to I agree until the beginning of the following trip. It actually took 3 trips. The first trip I checked the maintenance page (and had to hit I agree) to make sure that the mileage made sense (i.e. that the miles to go plus my odo reading equal 5000 and I think I have one set to 15000). They were right on for that trip.

Then on the following trip, (a trip to work that was 25 miles or so) I purposely only had the mfd on the info page only so I never had to hit "I agree".

At the beginning of the very next trip I checked the maintenance page to see if there was a difference and there wasn't. The counters kept on counting down despite the fact that I didn't hit "I Agree".

I bet you that the Nav keeps up with everything even if you don't hit I agree. It just wouldn't make sense for it to be completely inactive until I agree is pressed.

That's what it does for me. If you turn off the car, the NAV goes to sleep.

I am not saying that it doesn't keep track of the mileage, I am talking about the human I/O. NAV won't display anything until you have hit 'I Agree' for that trip.

What do you mean by info page? Are you talking about the menu page where you can select Maintenance, Calendar, Trip, etc? Trip is intrinsic to the Prius, and doesn't use the NAV at all. That's where the energy and consumption screen is entered from. All the rest are supported by NAV, and you have to have agreed not to do something stupid for that trip in order to enter any one of them.

Unless they changed this for later DVD versions. I still have 3.2.

Well I don't know if it'll display the warnings if they should happen to occur on some trip when you haven't hit "I agree". Maybe we'll find out eventually, I don't know. I do know that, at least for me, the Nav systems appear to be keeping track of everything but they just won't let me see it until I agree to their terms. I'm on the latest version of the software, not sure if there is a difference or not.

By info page I mean the page that comes up when you hit "info" on the steering wheel. The energy or consumption page. Kind of confusing since there is another info button, my bad.

I agree, the NAV does track the information, but is disabled from interfacing with you until you agree to its terms.

The consumptio/energy screen has nothing to do with NAV and doesn't require the disclaimer. Being in that screen also won't allow the msgs to pop up.
I have had the maintenance time elapse, and the only time it pops up is when I have acknowledged the disclaimer. As a matter of fact, if I was going to use a NAV function for something else, as soon as I hit 'I Agree', the maintenance required page came up, until I finally cleared it when I got my oil done.

Okay so it tracks it but just won't display it if it the date / mileage occurs and you haven't hit I agree.

Well that makes it a bit of a hassle don't you think?

Yup, I agree completely. The whole "I Agree" thing is a hassle, and I don't think Coastal's mod will fix this, as I don't think it autonymously engages the NAV, it only quickly presses the "I Agree" button for you when you go to a NAV supported screen.
