Well, thought I would update everyone. Got the car back yesterday and they replaced the hv battery with no charge. This made me happy, but I'm still a bit uneasy about this happening in the first place. How many times have all of you heard of hv failure before 100K? Thanks to everyone that replied to this thread, I appreciate the advise.

You are the second or third Gen 2 that I recall. There probably are a few others, but the total number is very low compared to the number of cars out in the field.

Hope all works out. Under no circumstances should you pay the $60. As to the 12 volt battery, you can buy one online from some dealers for as low as $110 shipped. It's not too hard to install. $238 is insane. I'd start looking for new dealers. This one sounds like a real ripoff.
