I am considering a July build, package V with AT. Does anyone know the difference between a current build and this one. I know the current has AY which includes Safety Connect and is loaded with version 9.1 instead of 8.1 maps. Are there any other differences? Thanks.
There's a USB port somewhere in my thing, haven't found it yet though I think that's part of the $600+ paid out.
The September build Navs/ATP/SR come with USB and Safety Connect, with 1-year subscription included (I think). I don't know about the Nav DVD ver, but I assume it must be the latest no?
Besides the AT vs AY issue, does anyone know if there have been any other upgrades/mods/changes to a July vs September build, electronics, firmware or otherwise? Thanks for all of your insights (oops - wrong car ...)
For those of us who follow the information on the V fairly religeously, I am not aware of any further upgrades on the V w/ AT. If you happen to get a V...you're gonna LOVE it! David (aka Blind guy)
Some testers and owners of very early production models reported excerssive error of mpg as displayed by the trip computer, about 6 mpg error which translates to 10% or more. Most owners report an error of about 5%. I have a late July build and get a 4 to 5% error which I don't consider excessive. There are reports on another forum that there may be another revision that results in almost perfect accuracy. They cite one such car but don't say when it was built. I assume that the July build that you are looking at would have the 5% error. Here is a link to a long thread discussing this issue: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...vs-computer-mpg-please-post-your-results.html
I wasn't very happy either paying that 600 bucks for the USB and the SOS features, but had no choice.. BTW the USB port is in the arm rest compartment right next to the aux jack
I may be in the minority, but as someone who listens almost exclusively to my iPod, I have to say I absolutely love my USB. The interface and the SKS are two things I've never had before, but now can't live without. BTW, does anyone know what the yearly subscription rate is for the SOS?
Yes it does. Or I should say, the pre-installed one does. I don't know about the kit that's available for earlier builds.
Open the driver's side door and look at the metal plate on that upright piece between the front and back door. It will have the month and the year your car was built.
