I just received word from a Toyota dealership that Toyota has put a "stop sale" on the Prius All-Weather floor mats. That basically means that Toyota dealerships across the country will not be receiving any new shipments of all-weather rubber mats until an undetermined future date. Dealerships have not been told that they can't sell any stock that they have on hand, so if you want a set before the snow/ice season kicks in this might be the time to buy. Shameless plug: The PriusChat Shop has 10 sets of 2010 all-weather mats on hand right now, and only 3 sets of 2004-2009 all-weather mats. 2010 Prius All Weather OEM Mats 2004-2009 Prius All Weather OEM Mats This stop sale obviously has to do with the impending recall of driver's side floor mats due to unintended acceleration. The rear all-weather cargo mat is not effected by this stop sale. UPDATE: I just received word that Toyota has forbidden dealerships from continuing any sales of the all-weather mats for now. We have pulled the product from the PriusChat Shop for now, but will add them back in as soon as we get the go-ahead from Toyota.

Just put mine in yesterday. The fit on the flat portion of the floor is terrific, but I do wish they went a bit higher up the incline portion. I can not see how the mat would interfere with the accelerator pedal, especially if it is CLIPPED in. Oh well, guess I'll just consider myself lucky and enjoy them. Possible snow in the Hills today! :)

Make sure you take your carpeted mats out instead of just putting your all-weather mats on top. It's the people who can't read directions who are causing this recall.

Gee, why am I not surprised? This is what I predicted yesterday. The next step is for Toyota to put out an ammendment to the owner's manual forbidding driver's side floor mats.

Good. I'm glad it's only the "All-Weather" mats. This won't affect me. I was looking for the "Southwest Urban Desert Longitude XX, Latitude YZ, Parked In Garage Six Days Per Week, One Day Of Sun, Driving On Four Overcast Days Per Week, Three Sunny Days Per Week, Work Commute, Dry Bulk Errands Only Mats, Part #4561A63.001.02WD.501B.12.version6.218E" :D

Update: Toyota has told their dealerships they can no longer sell the all-weather mats for any model years of the Prius. We've pulled the product from the PriusChat Shop but will put it back up as soon as Toyota allows their sale.

I dont see what the problem is. The mats have holes and hooks. Mine are hooked in. Are the hooks coming out or something because I never had a problem with mine coming out. I dont see a flaw with this product to cause a recall. All I can see is stupid people not following directions. Maybe they should recall the people.

So. does this mean those that are out there are now "collector's items" and are going to be worth THOUSANDS in the future? :D

I just noticed my all-weather mat has a rip in it. I'm POed because I think I spent about $100 for the set and hoped they'd last more than three years. Then I heard about the recall and thought, "Maybe I'll get a new mat!" BTW, I can't see how my mat could possibly interfere with my accelerator pedal.

WeatherTech stock just shot up. I hope Toyota doesn't try to remove the mats when going in for service.

Has this been confirmed for 2010s as well? The other posts I read said it was just 2004-2009. I got my Prius two weeks ago with all-weather floor mats and they were NOT clipped in. I spoke with the dealer today and he was shocked and said he would get clips for me right away.

I had my car in for service yesterday with a district technician from Toyota Motor Sales and no one said anything about my rubber floor mats.

Looking at my mats (2010 OEM Prius All-weather mats), I don't see how it's possible for them to cause a problem when properly installed, i.e. not on the carpet mats, and using both grommets.

Like other people have said, I think this whole issue is because people can't follow simple instructions.

My 2010's mats are black to start with and clipped in properly. My 2007 are black too, but started off tan, and properly clipped. I would like to replace these in the 2007. Does anyone have suggestions for third party mats?

Also - all my mats are fabric. I saw on the NYT a picture of the all weather version which is hard plastic. So I assume the fabric mats are not included in the recall?

My all-weather are not hard plastic, but flexible rubber, including the ones in the cargo area.

Here's some more information on the floormat issue. It seems the issue might not necessarily be operator error in every case. The floormat hook design may be the cause of some of these failures.

Toyota floormats reason for recall? | Mibz.com

I have all weather mats in my 2005 Prius, and I haven't seen the mat move even an inch, but this does give me pause. I might pull the mat out of my driver side just until we get more information from Toyota.
