<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(GeekyDragon\";p=\"99471)</div> Apparently. When I talked to Toyota of Santa Cruz, they assured me that they had never seen a #4 come in, ever. I have talked to many clueless salespeople, and that may have been one of them.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(madler\";p=\"99481)</div> Very odd... You probably got unlucky and spoke to one of the clueless ones. The salesman we had "Jim Scissero (sp)" is one of the most honest salesman we ever had. Totally caught me by suprise. It tooks two weeks to get our Prius because of the color (Black) but the day it arrived, we had the choice of two Black #4 Prius (Ivory or Charcoal Int). They also had about a dozen other combo's several of which were #4. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience, but glad to hear your ONE OF US now. --GD
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DanMan32\";p=\"98305)</div> Excuse my branching from the posted topic, Dan. My alarm does not sound when activated by rolling window down, exiting and locking doors, removing the fob 100 ft. from the vehicle, then after 30-45 seconds, opening the door from inside. The panic alarm sounds when the panic button on the fob is depressed. Does this suggest that the alarm is defective, or was never activated with this package? I feel no confidence in my dealer's service managers, who talk differently about the alarm system. The window sticker sowed yr/mod 2004/1224C, with options FE (50 state emissions, n.c.); BI package 6, rear int wiper, driver & pass side & curtain airbags, smart entry & start, CF carpet floor mats & cargo mat.
I have the #4 and am completely happy with it. I fell in love with the SmartKey and really like the additional safety features the #4 has. The dealer told me that “they couldn’t get a #4 in NYS†but “they would tryâ€. Well, it only took 7 weeks and I had mine. When I picked it up the salesman introduced me to several other sales personnel as “the guy that broke the rule and got a package 4!". I guess this made me a celebrity, at least for the moment. (And also lowered the dealer’s profits a tad).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(RetiredProf\";p=\"99497)</div> Well aren't you special? Did Billy Fucillo himself drive down to PA to get it? Congrats and welcome to the board from a fellow WNYer!
Oh, I forgot to mention the best advantage of the $1500 Garmin GPS over the Toyota GPS in the $3000 more expensive package #6: I can use the portable GPS in my other car depending on which one I'm driving, or where it's really the most useful, in a rental car. Try taking the Prius GPS with you ...

[/b][/quote] Sounds like you may not have it turned on based on package. Not sure what the 04pkg6 came with. But it CAN be turned on, if the dealer is nice enough to do it. I believe the option is DOP. Kyle posted the steps in Suppressing beeps.
I'm in the same boat as many of you here. I just picked up my #4 the other day and I absolutely love it. Had to go to a Philly area dealer, for here in Central NJ they couldn't get it. I've never had a NAV system....in fact, most every other car I've had has been a baseline model. So to me, #4 is fabulous. I'm gonna do lots of stereo upgrading too, but for MUCH less money than an upgrade to package 5.
