As the Prius Team said in another thread the price will increase $400 for all vehicles at the port as of Oct 18. I have been waiting for my Prius since June 23 and pushed the dealer once I read that post to get my car before the increase. He came back to me after the Oct 1 allocation and told me my car had now been allocated and that since it was a 1223A it should be the old MSRP price of $22,750 (Prius II without port options) because the new $400 higher price would be associated with a model code 1223C. Has anyone else heard that the change from 122xA to 122xC signifies the $400 higher price with the "C" code?
I don't know about that, but one dealer told me that it all depends when it arrived at the port, not when it's sold. So, you could buy your car after the 18th, and as long as it was delivered before then, you won't have to pay the $400 increase. I'd verify this though.
