The print version of Automobile Magazine just arrived in my mailbox today. There are SIX pages dedicated to the Tesla, and it's mostly praise. 2009 Tesla Roadster - Tesla Electric Sport Convertible Review - Automobile Magazine
as always an awesome article that talks about an awesome car. too bad i will never buy one. but sure would be nice to take a test drive in one if anyone here at PC would be so kind. if need be, i can drive to you if less than say 1000 miles
Delightful review. One wonders what might be available today if General Motors had not killed and crushed all the EV-1s five years ago.
They say the $101k price is "ridiculous"...really? For a performance sports care it's right in the price range many already pay, and this is a hand build custom vehicle that's hard to get....seems fair...high for most people yes, but not outrageous for what it is.
The Ferrari may be more, but a Vette isn't and is also in many cases faster than the Tesla. I'd rather have the Tesla!
At the Kempton show a couple of weeks ago we had a guy who lives in eastern PA and owns one. It's his daily driver, well, in nicer weather but it's not just a weekend car. He said his out of pocket all told was closer to $120K after all was said and done. I didn't get who he actually was, maybe someone else can fill in here. . He's very cavalier about it. We were getting covered with dust from passing vehicles on the fairgrounds perimeter road, and he didn't seem too worried or wanting to get it out of there. And the body has *lots* of open gaps for airflow here and there, so it was getting into there too. . Astoundingly, he let me give it a sit. [No drive, though!] My butt was on the *ground*. It would take a while to get used to something that low, especially if I was out there mixing it up with the SUVs. The old Subie gave a hint of that and I didn't like it much, but this put my head about thigh-level on the owner. . _H*
