Did a search and could not find any comments concerining what folks are doing as far as caring for the solar roof and moon roof area. I'm assuming it is advisable to put a coat of wax on the roof. I have used Nu Finish on my Gen II and my Tacomas before that and it always holds up good. Any suggestions?
I put Rain-X on mine and it stays pretty clean and water beads up and rolls off. Great for those high-humidity mornings
I'm treating mine just like it was glass.... I"m sure you could put what you put on the rest of the car and it would be fine too.
Actually I Rain-X all the glass, solar panel and sunroof included. I've used Rain-X for years on windows and have been very happy. Bugs just wipe off, rain rolls off. Same with the sunroof. A little Rain-X and it's very easy to keep clean. An additional benefit here in the cold north country (North Dakota) is that frost is much easier to remove. We deal with frost 6 month out of the year. I would think that most any non-abrasive wax would work much the same way, but Rain-X is made for glass and a $3.00 bottle will last years.
Is anyone concerned about hail with the sunroof? Since placing my order this has been in the back of my mind.
Heck yea.. I'm concerned allot! But the glass is so thick, it looks like it would take at least golf ball size to hurt the solar roof... I don' t think Quarter size would do anything. If you get in golfball size or larger, the car is trashed anyway!
