I've had this about 2 months, ~2600 miles, and it's still mint.

Love almost everthing about the car. The one exception is the Misty Gray interior. The car I test drove had a dark gray interior, and when I placed my order, I agreed to take whichever gray came in first. When I first picked up the car, I thought the misty gray would grow on me. It hasn't. After 2 months, I just can't get past how light the misty gray really is. Although I read that several people on this forum love the interset the two-tone provides, I keep wishing I had the more monotone dark gray.

I'm looking for anyone in close to the Chicagoland area who would like to trade me for a 2010 with the following:
    Exterior: Black or Winter Gray
Interior: Dark Gray (this is the biggie for me right now)
Level: II, III, or IV (I'll pay the difference if a III or IV)

This is probably one of the more weird posts, but I figure it can't hurt to ask.

The dark gray interior is more monotone than the misty gray interior. The attached photo is the dark gray from the Toyota website: the center console and the door panels are the same color as the seats. On the misty gray, the center console and door panels are much darker (more like charcoal) than the seats.

lol you got me all confused, But the pic has leather seats so it's hard for me to tell compared to cloth. is there a way to tell by looking at the sticker?

My window sticker says WINTER GRAY METALLIC/DRKCHRCL/ASH/DR

Interesting. I actually thought about similar trade. I have blizzard pearl with dark grey but I wanted the Bisque. I thought about posting a trade but dark grey is growing on me now.

Anyway, just to help everyone. Here are pictures of 3 different interior color. Misty Grey, Dark Grey and Bisque.

Misty Grey is charactorized by contrasting dark black/grey dash top, door insert and center console lid but very light grey else where.

Dark Grey is mono tone. Dark grey everywhere except black dash top.

Bisque is typical tan/beige interior with dark grey/black dash top.

tjp74 - thanks for the pics.

adamace1 - mine looks like the one on the left, and the sticker says "WINTER GRAY METALLIC/FB60" - I want the one in the middle, like you have. Are you interested at all?

I would be, but i agree with you i wouldn't like the light color. I would be interested in a trade if someone was willing to give me incentive for taking a color we both don't like. i don't make much money so i'm not a picky person at all because i can't afford to be. also i doubt you would want to go from a car with 2,000 miles to one with 8,000

Before trading the car, I'd look into seat covers + painting accents on the door etc which match the seats. I'm in the process of doing this on a 2009 on which I didn't like the gray interior.

My seat covers are by Katzkin -- more expensive than some, but tremendous quality. I chose a very light "bone" color.

If you're going with something other than a matching gray leather, you can color other interior surfaces to complement the seat color. I've worked with a paint shop which assures me the door panels can be painted if (1) absolutely clean - particularly of any silicone treatments, (2) the panel is first painted with the right primer, and (3) the right paint is used over the primer. Paint shop says a number of aftermarket auto/truck shops use this approach with success.

In my case, I think I'm painting some but not all of the door below the black area at the top.

I also bought matching bone vinyl which I'll use to cover several surfaces.

    +1

That's the route I would choose too. I would just get the base dark gray Katzkins installed on the seats. The shop that installed my sunroof also installs leather. They charge only $1000 installed for the base Katzkins. I'm pretty certain that the OP can find a good installer nearby that will charge the same.

Thanks for the insight. Installing leather seems to be a much more reasonable option (financially). I'll still have the light plastic trim and carpet, but I think I can live with that. With the light cloth, I've already noticed the back of the front seats getting marked up from my kids shoes. Do you happen to know if different color leather (misty gray vs dark gray) will show dirt much differently? I've never had leather seats before.
