I'm sure a few have towed little tent trailers in Gen2's. I'll bey they step up to bigger tent trailers with the 10.
Tow what? The product you referred to is not mentioned, only the benefits..what type of trailer are you talking about?
I would think it's a transaxle life limit thing. I'm sure the car has the suspension, power and braking capacity to tow quite a bit, so I'm thinking something in the powertrain isn't robust enough to handle the load. Apparently the traction control is a little aggressive as well, one reason to do this is to protect the powertrain, so I assume the powertrain is the weak link. The reason I say this is because I feel pretty sure you could hook a 2,000 lb trailer to it and think everything is fine, then several thousand miles later your buying a transaxle. Just an opinion of course.
