The 2010 Owners Manual shows a vague sketch of the floor jack lift points on page 415. The sketch of the front lift point, for example, looks just like an engine oil drain plug. So does anyone have a more precise drawing or sketch of these floor jack lift points? By the way, nowhere in the owners manual is there any mention of the engine oil drain plug. Is there one? Also, there is no mention of the oil filter. Is there one? Thanks, Jim
There is a frame member that crosses under the engine. That is the front jack point. Be careful you don't damage the undertray when using it. There is a frame extension just ahead of the spare tire well in the back that comes down quite a ways. That is the rear jack point. You can also use the side jack points, but I recommend some kind of "interface" device between the floor jack and those, such as a hard rubber block (hockey puck) or a plywood block with a slot cut in it for the weld seam.
Yes to both questions but there is a little door that swings down for access. John's Stuff - Toyota Prius Maintenance - Changing Oil Here is the thread on the subject: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii.../67747-oil-change-2010-prius-do-yourself.html
