True, but still requires payment of $500 comprehensive deductible for a hood emblem. Still hard to justify at that price.
Thanks to everyone who replied. Apon further investigation, the $900 price was for the emblem when you also have radar. The unit without radar goes for $51. Here are the parts number as quoted by Toyota 101 in the SF Bay Area: 5314147011 - $900 7531047010 - $51 I will believe when I see it installed and I pay the price. More news to follow but thanks to everyone as quite a few hit this one on the mark.
Or you can hit up parts.com...they have it for $32.05: 7531047010 $46.36 $0.00 $32.05 EMBLEM ASSY RADIATO
How did you do that? I went to the site, but I couldn't find a way to access parts for a 2010 Prius. I put in both of the part numbers, and it came back with the same info you had, but I didn't see that it identified the parts as being for a 2010 Prius.

As I said, I did the search by OEM Part Number, but it didn't specify anything about the year. I wouldn't normally be concerned, because the part number should be unique, but the web site didn't show any availability for 2010 models.
So the thief knew that the Prius V emblem had radar in it? A smart thief? A green thief? A Toyota thief? Reading this thread resurfaced my concern about putting a red carbon fiber sticker on my rear emblem. There's nothing valuable about it but it's kind of flashy, like the racing hondas.
Looks like $35 for the part unless something else is damaged. Part Detail Looks like I was the bazillionth person to answer you with a reasonable price. The website I used is worth bookmarking if you are looking for Gen III parts info http://www.toyotapartszone.com
Gulp Using the part number posted earlier it is available for the bargain price of only $647 53141-47011 - OEM Toyota GARNISH, RADIATOR GR
xs youre posting old info. read this thread again. i bumped this thread hoping to figure out how the thief knew to steal that $900 emblem. Has anybody else encountered this problem? now that it's been 15 months since the topic was last discussed?
The round sensors for Intelligent Park Assist (located on both side of front bumper near the fogs) are an easy giveaway that it's equipped with ATP. Thief obviously did his research. My Prius still wears its $900 emblem proudly.
Here you go. Just glue it on. Any color you want and you'll be making a statement. $20. PEACE MEDALLION.COM
I think that you guys are confused (or i am)! $900 is for the emblem + radar. $51 is for the emblem only. So, it does not matter what Prius you have, the emblem is still the same price. The emblem and radar are NOT attached together. So the price that the OP got from Toyota was for the emblem AND radar unit behind it. If you just want the emblem (even on a V ATP), then you just pay $51...the same price that you pay if you had Prius II-IV. Well, that is the way i understand it.
Exactly! The emblem has two clips and two phillips head (6?) screws which screw into a bracket behind the front bumper cover. This would make an adjuster question the removal of this emblem without damaging the front bumper cover or especially the bracket the emblem is screwed into. The radar unit rests 3 inches behind the emblem on ATP cars mounted to the radiator and hood latch support. Just did the horn upgrade and my hands will attest that it is tight back there....
Sorry to hear about the theft OP. Seeing this thread is making me speed up my search for a knowledgeable alarm installer who can install a Viper alarm onto my new Prius. That alarm dual stage impact sensor sure comes in handy against vandals and thieves. Knock on wood but something about that red blinking led just make most thieves walk on by to the next car.
