If you are over 6' and have been driving a 2010 for at least a month are you comfortable with the center console there? Does your right leg get pinched? I'm 6'4" and am worried. I think I'll have to spring for a weekend rental and drive somewhere far away to see if it's comfortable. Problem is there isn't much more room in a Camry or Rav4.
I'm 6'4" and the leg room and head room feel good. I just wish I could telescope the steering wheel 1.5" closer
6'2" and 250#. It's comfortable to lean my leg against on trips. No sharp edges. I have no gripes at all about the console.
I'm 5' 18" and have no problem with console. I agree, it is comfortable to lean my knee on it. However, I find it a bit uncomfortable to jam my elbow on the small ledge at top of door (where window meets)
6'2" 200lb long legs No problem but I rented 1st to check. There is a thread somewhere on moving the seat back. It seemed to me to be easier than with the Gen II. That was my fall back position if long term use revealed a problem.
I'm 6'1, 215. I was worried about this too. When I first sat in a GIII my knee bumped the console and it was uncomfortable. However, once I got on the road I realized my leg and foot were in a different position than they are just sitting in the car and now my leg/knee never touch the console. The main thing I wish for is a longer telescope on the steering wheel. I've found having the wheel set to its lowest position with maximum telescope is most comfortable.
6'1" here - I have no problems with the right leg/console, it's the left knee/hard plastic on the front of the arm rest that's bugging me. I can't always keep my left foot on the supplied foot rest (which keeps my knee away from the arm rest). Wish they would've put some padding there...
6'4" and 300# I fit well and comfortably. The seat goes way back on its track more than I'd need. Getting in/out makes me squeeze my thigh past the steering wheel but it's no real problem. My nephew's Ford Explorer feels tight w/o headroom. Go figure.
I'm 6', 280# and it's fine. I do bump the cruise control out now and then. But, from what I read, cruise control is a Pruis carnal sin, so maybe it's designed that way.
I agree about the telescoping bit. I measure the wheel to telescope only 1.5" total. It would be good if the steering wheel also tilts down more and telescopes about 1 to 2 inches more for when seat if fully lowered. Not to smear dirt, but I sat in a 2010 Insight other day. Their steering wheel tilts down a lot more than the Prius and it telescopes more. I don't have measurements on either, just an impression.
I'm 6'5" and 230lbs. I have long arms and legs in proportion to my overall height. I was concerned whether this would be a problem until I did a test drive. It turns out that the car fits me very well. Even on long trips, the car remains very comfortable.
I'm 6'1" & I think that an extra inch of hip room would be nice. Also my left foot does not have enough room to rest on the side but wear size 13. I guess if the car was 2 inches wider I wouldn't have any issues. My father is 6'4" & he has plenty of room.
I'm 6'4" and 270 lbs and am quite comfortable driving the car. Actually, when I sold my previous car, a 2004 Prius, my right leg/knee had actually worn the paint off the center console. I don't think I'll be doing the same damage to my Gen III. Stu
6' 2" and headroom is great (with the sear lowered). With the seat all the way back, my arms are uncomfortably straight, so another 2" telescoping of the wheel would be very nice. As it is, I slide the seat forward and suffer with the increased difficulty of getting in and out. The left "arm rest" is useless, and the window "ledge" is too narrow to be used for resting the left arm. My left knee would like to rest against something smoother. The right leg is comfortable, but if the whole center "bridge" was gone, I might be able to stretch my right leg over into the passenger footwell. I think the "open" space would be nice, rather than this "cocoon" style that is so frequently the choice of the new car designers.
I'm 6'4" and about 180lbs. No issue at all with the center console in terms of my legs. I do wish the wheel would come out just a bit more. I agree with others that the arm rest and/or window edge on the door aren't in good places for my left arm. I'm not crazy about the seat...it is pretty comfortable, but I wish it had more side bolstering and had more support behind the shoulders....I wouldn't avoid the car based on comfort, but I wouldn't buy it based on comfort either...
