After weeks of waiting for my first choice color (blue), I finally lost patience and bought a red 2010 Prius V with AT last Saturday. It helped that the dealer gave me a better deal to take the one that they had on the lot. Dealing with Jeff Richman of Novato Toyota in Northern California was very pleasant.
We should work out an exchange. I got red too, but wanted blue, silver or black. But the red has really grown on me so nevermind the trade.
Congrats! I really wanted blue too, but was told they're hard to come by right now so I "settled" for Winter Gray. I really like it though. No complaints. I could have gotten a red one , but it didn't have the solar roof pkg I wanted.
Congratulations! May I ask you what kind of deal did you get from your dealer? How much it's off the MSRP? I would appreciate the information so that I know how to negociate with my dealer. Thanks.
Five weeks ago, "my" dealer wanted $750 dealer destination charge, and then added $2400 for chrome wheels, or $2000 as a "market adjustment". Because they sold "my" car (Prius II, no Nav, no chrome wheels) to somebody else, they lowered my "market adjustment" (on a more expensive Prius III with Nav) to $1000. Another dealer, in San Diego, would sell the same thing without the added "adjustment". So, shop around a little, if possible.
I just secured my BLUE 2010! I am supposed to be able to get it about the 3rd week of October, I'm so excited! Who knew blue could be so popular?
The blue this year is very nice, but we live in a desert (110 degrees outside right now at the end of September) so we decided to go with Blizzard Pearl for our 2010. Just the word blizzard in the euphemistic color name keeps the interior 20 degrees cooler.
How odd. I wanted anything but the blue in an IV with sunroof package. In mid August; I called all over the southeast and the only one available was the blue one in my actual City. I walked away but went back the same afternoon because I knew it wouldn't be there long. I now have the blue and I love it. My boyfriend says the prius is so ugly; it needs the blue color to help it! I know....I don't agree! He did fall in love with it as soon as we drove it. We were really surprised with the car. He fell in love the first 3 to 5 minutes in it....
Picked up my Blizzard White one yesterday. I'm very impressed with the technology and ergonomics. Congrats to all of you. Here's hoping for many safe miles for all.
I love the blue, but blue and black are so hard to get. I was very lucky to get my first choice in black--- it is a hard upkeep though. CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW CAR!
