i just bought my 2007 with 30k. it came with a new set on Integrities on it. how long can expect then to last?
Those stock Integrity tires on my 2006 were terrible in snow. I bought a set of Blizzak tires for winter, which are a huge improvement. For summer I just got some FuelMax tires. They are fine so far and the mileage is great (up from 48 toward 51). I have not tested the FuelMax tires in rain or snow yet.
Costo special Michelin X-Radials 5% hit on MPG compared to OEM integrities, but I like the traction. seems more stable on the highway.
Hi All, I am sold on Michelin Hydroedges, since I had them on my Saturn SL2. Fantastic tires for 3 seasons here in Chicagoland, and acceptable for winter, as roads are usually plowed, and not much deeper than 1 inch of snow when I am driving.
My Intregrities were pretty well gone at 24K. I'm not that bad of a driver, and don't know how some people reportedly get over 50K. They must not turn corners. Anyway, GoodYear came through with a wear-out warranty adjustment, and I saved about 45% on the replacement cost of a set of Assurance FuelMax tires. Plus a small rebate. They are rated somewhat better than the Intregrities, and have a 65K warranty. Time will tell how long they will last; initially my mpg has increased. Other tires may perform better, but the price was right on these.
Michelin HydroEdge with GreenX technology in original size pressurized to 45psi. Run great, quiet, good mileage, monsters in the rain. Me likes em!:bounce:
am i the only one getting less mpg with the GY Assurance Fuelmax? its been 3 tanks. i drive the same way as before, inflate them with the same pressure (stock pressure). and it dropped 2 mpg. i dont drive a prius, but i dont think it would make a difference if the tires are intended for better fuel mileage.
You must be, and that's hard to explain. I'm assuming you put on the OE size? I have seen several posts of an increase in mpg with Fuel Max tires. I am still evaluating; the indicated mpg increased, but did the actual mpg increase? I'm only working on second tank with the new tires.
my indicated mpg is less than before. i usually can go over 450 miles with a full tank on my old tires. for the last 2 tanks, i could barely make it to 420 miles. hopefully its just the tires needing time to break in.
Confirm that you actually got FuelMaxes and not some other flavor of Assurance. It should say so on the sidewalls.
Replaced my Goodyear Integrities with the Goodyear Fuel Max. No hit on fuel mileage and they are not directional treads which may or may not be much of a factor. But I do like the fuel max's as they are much quieter and track better. I went to the 195/60/15 vs the original 185/65/15.
My OEM Integrities are cooked at 20k miles. The sides are bald, the center has lots of tread. I have been running the pressure exactly as stated on the door sticker, so I would recommend you run closer to what the tire is rated (44psi max) if you want them to last.
I've been using 42/40 front/rear and they wear in exactly the same pattern, but they do seem to wear more slowly.
I just put in a set of the Budget All-Season Nokian I3. At 45psi, they are still tolerable and still quiet. I got a good deal on them. Suppose to be High Mileage tires. Hope to get 60K on them. I had almost 40K on my OE GY. I do mix driving. The turning in the city kill the edges or else I could have gotten 45K easily. .
So far the mileage on the FuelMax tires is all over the place, but they are good in the rain and on dry pavement. The snow test is next. Those stock Integrities were a death wish on snow.
I got Hankook Optimo H727 195/60 R15 installed on mine, and have done 1200+ miles sofar. These are very comfy and quite tires, track well, and highest rated as per Consumer Reports. Anybody tried the BFGoodrich basic now on sale at COSTCO ? they're $72 as opposed to $108 for a basic Michelin. Have to shop at Costco, its my last credit card with some room still on it ! My Integra's are bald especially on the edges, after 35k. miles. Thanks for any unput.
I'm making myself a little crazy with the tire replacement decision. I hated the Integrities- didn't realize that it was because of the tires that I slipped on dry pavement and felt like I was all over the place in the snow. I want an all-season tire, no place to store tires in order to get snow tires. The GY TT's don't come in 185, a tire guy told me my sensor wouldn't work if I changed up the tire size, but I see many posts of people who have done that- so how does that work? I can get Nokian WR G2's if I drive 40 miles to get them, or I can get Michelins- either the Hydroedge, the energy saver, or the X-DT (good deal on these at Costco right now.) I'm not as concerned with losing 1-2 mpg. I want stability in bad weather and not too rough a ride if possible, but also want a LRR tire (the tire people don't seem to know what I'm talking about when I say that.)
