The drivers side hooks weren't on mine when i picked it but i took it back they installed them right away. They said they should come with them.
considering the Lexus accident in California involving 4 deaths due to a stuck drivers carpet, i sure they'll fix it right then and there. and on the news Toyota has announced that they will make sure everybody has them properly installed.
Now you have built a case; they may have supplied you the wrong mats! Time to pay your dealer a visit and compare a set of carpet mats from the parts department.
Yeah, I think they should give you these pretty quick, but if not, mention the liability issue. Worst case a call to Toyota corporate while you are at the dealer. But I don't think that will be necessary. This is really a CYA thing for them. And yes, the hooks are offset a bit as mentioned, your mats are just fine.
Neither my June 2010 Prius purchase or the August C4C Tacoma had the driver's side carpet hooks installed! The package of hooks for the Prius were in the center console ash tray, as I recall. I had the Prius carpets 'hooked' at the same visit that they reduced back-up beeps to one beep (for free by the way).
