II purchased an XM2GO recently. I liked the fact I can move the service from the house, to the car, and then to work. I have been using the built in FM transmitter which works well around town but on road trips you have to periodically change frequencies because of area stations broadcasting on the your frequency. I have purchased the XM FM Direct Adapter and am looking for a fast way to connect this antenna bypass unit. I have read many of the postings and downloaded the instructions for the PriusXM installation but was looking for a way to do this without tearing apart the whole dash. Can you get the antenna jack on the back of the radio from underneath or through the lower glove box? Any thoughts on splicing into the antennae wire elsewhere in the car (with appropriate parts), what is the path of the antennae wire? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(1rawhead\";p=\"97491)</div> Having installed the XM Kit from PriusXM - I am going to say you do infact have to dissasmble the entire dash - it is the only way to get the radio out so you have access to the FM Ant Cable. Unless you have very thin very flexible hands I do not see you reaching it thru the glove box. The good news is, I was able to take apart and reassamble my dash (plus install all the XM Kit Parts) in under an hour. I recomend you get the DVD from PriusXM.com - he sell's it seperatly and shows step by step how to remove the dashboard correctly with out destroying it!
