Hey I was looking for help. I see the US has a 2010 model Prius V. Does anyone know if Canada has the same model? I can't find it myself and seeing as this is called priuschat I am hoping you may help me. Thanks in advance.
Canadian equivalent is the "Technology Package." It doesn't have the 17" wheels nor LED/fog lights but does have the solar roof that our Vs lack.
If you're talking strictly about the V, we don't have a comparable package. If you're talking about the top-of-the-line Prius V w/ Advanced Technology Package, then yes we do have a similar one. It's called the Technology Package (Package D). Where it differs is that the US model gets 17" alloys, LED headlights w/ auto-levelling, headlight washers and foglights. They also get Lane Keep Assist (LKA). Our Tech Pack substitute all of the above for the Power Moonroof w/ Solar Cells (and solar panel ventilation system with Remote A/C). If you're looking for a model that looks like the Prius V, then you'd want to take a look at the Touring Package. We forego the leather, heated seats, power lumbar support, water-repellent glass but we add the illuminated door sills, rear bumper protector and backup camera.
Do not worry what they get in the States and just look at the Toyota.ca site because the next thing you will do is look at Euros sites and see they get HUD and we dont get that in Canada either Be happy with what you can get
YES!!! Gen III finally arrived to our little country too, and according Toyota Czech Republic we get the HUD (projection on the windscreen) as a standard equipment in all packages, including the cheapest ones! :cheer2::rockon:eace: We can also get the solar roof & the technology package together! If only I cound afford one... out: Anyway, I am going to book myself for a test drive .

So can you get HUD, Solar Roof, Advanced Technology, 17" wheels, LED headlights, and fog lights all in one package in the Czech Republic? Don't rely on the toyota.cz features/specs site as it could be misleading just like the U.S. version. Finding the perfect Prius is like finding the perfect woman in every single aspect. There doesn't seem to be one and it's a package deal
Well, I don’t know for sure, but apparently you can! At least it seems to, according our pricing list and the web car configurator. Basically, we have three “default†pre-configured packages available, called “Priusâ€, “Sol†and “Premium†(both “Sol†and “Premium†have 17†wheels by default). All three packages include the HUD (windscreen projection) – apparently you cannot buy a gen III here without it. But on top of that, you can build your “own†package from scratch using a web configurator, where you start with one of the default configurations and you can add whatever you like by simply marking a checkbox. Some options are mutually exclusive – for example, there are three options available on the floor mats (two textile options and a rubber), but you can select only one of them – if you check another one, the previous option unchecks automatically. But the system allows me to select both the “solar roof†and the “technology packageâ€, all this as add-ons on a “Sol†package (which includes 17†wheels by default). It computes the price for me and it even generates an order form, where all this is included, which I can print, sign and submit at an arbitrary Toyota dealership. The configurator is here: Toyota Configurator but it is in the Czech language only… Still, try to click “upravit tento modelâ€, then choose a color and select “dalsi krok†and then under “volitelne pakety†you will see all the goodies available to us. Then, under “Prislusenstvi†(the one below) and “Interier†you will see a wealth of other options – we can even order a TV tuner and a DVD player with additional color display on the back of the driver’s seat, to allow the rear passengers to watch the movies or television! (click on the “Modularni DVD zabavni system†for a picture). We can also have an integrated NAV with a harddisc instead of the DVD NAV (it is one of the options), an automatic parking system (as was on the gen II) and a lot of other goodies… And apparently you can include all of them into one car, it only costs a lot of money then… BUT, I didn’t actually TRIED to order a car in THAT configuration, so the web configurator MIGHT be misleading… I will ask at my Toyota dealership when I go by. So I would like to stress that it only APPEARS that we can have all that, IF the car configurator works properly…
Well in the UK, you can add the solar roof to the T4 or T-Spirit models (both have 17" alloys as standard) but when you do, it deletes the 17" alloys. Perhaps it's the same way in the CR.
Yes, it would make sense. I think it would be the same for us as for the rest of the Europe. I have to admit I don't really know the details, I was only carried away by the cool car configurator which allowed me to do that . BTW, do you have any idea why are the *rims size* and the *solar roof* correlated!? I mean, why on Earth you can't get solar on 17" wheels? I cannot think of *any* valid reason...
The most likely reason is that the solar roof is rather heavy, and that consequently it has a negative effect on the mpg figures. The 17" wheels also have a slight negative effect on the mpg figures. Combine the two, and the resulting configuration will have mpg figures that are not within the European mpg specifications for the Prius. Edit: European fuel consumption for 15" wheels: 25.6 km/l, for 17" wheels: 25 km/l.
Not really related to this thread, but do you guys in Europe use kilometres per litre to measure fuel consumption? I think I like that a lot better than what we use in Canada, which is litres per 100 kilometres. km/L seems easier to visualize...
I suppose this is the official normalized way to specify the fuel consumption in the European Union. Countries used to have their own way to specify fue lconsumption, I suppose these methods are still in daily use. It takes years or decades before a new unit is comon place. The hp has been replaced by the kW decades ago, and we still use the hp....
I have no idea. Maybe it's tied into the weight issue? i.e. the extra weight on the roof and maybe the flexibility of the 17" tyres/wheels vs. the 15"?? In the U.S., we nearly didn't get the choice of leather + moonroof because of weight issues to achieve the 50mpg rating.
I just asked at our Toyota dealership and also downloaded the new official price list for the gen III, which is also clear enough in its statements. Regarding the technology packet + solar roof together: they stated that yes, I could get both together on the "Premium" model. For the cheaper "Sol" model, I could only get one of those. For the cheapest "Prius" model, neither is available. They also stated that "solar roof" package automatically come on 15" wheels, it is not possible to get it on 17".
