I don't think PriusChat used to do this. When a link is posted, it appears three times in the post. From this thread, post number 15: An image appears with the link title at the top, the link at the bottom, a picture inside, and then the link again below the picture. I find this very annoying. What's worse, when you click on Preview, you don't see all the garbage that's going to be in your post. You just see your link. Here's a screen shot:
I posted a couple of links today and that didn't happen. Perhaps it's because of what you linked. Tom
Could it be how the PriusChat software handles the Amazon stuff? Perhaps it only happens on Amazon stuff.
I would prefer it didn't. I can click through if I want to see the contents of a link. While I'm at it, it also annoys me no end that the default is for it to automatically retrieve titles from external links. Someone types a URL, but instead of showing me the URL it shows me some idiotically-long page title. Retrieving titles is a reasonable option, but should not be the default.
:focus: How about fixing the way PC handles links? Does anybody actually like the way a simple link to a book on Amazon creates such a pile of garbage in the post??? I'm not saying that kind of post should be prohibited. I'm just saying don't make it the default!
I suppose it is a tad annoying but I've seen so few posts to books that I haven't really paid that much attention to it.
