scratch marks on lower glove compartment

I think you are right - maybe day glo caution stickers - at $170 each, Toyota is making a lot of money replacing glove box covers - a reality check says wait a bit and get some more scratches or not and then replace. Obviously no more passengers, drycleaning, throwing purses and brief cases across the seat and onto the floor. Everything and everyone will have to sit in the back.

You would think that they would make a more durable glove box cover.

BTW - service will not charge for installation.

Another BTW: My mileage is awful now that the hot humid sticky awful tropical air is here even though I keep the temp at 77 and don't use the auto climate control.

Am seriously considering a move to Portland - it has to be better than Miami.

actually i think i will repaint the glove box then dip it in ureathane...for that "beautiful and durable as a diamond" finish

 

I have been in contact with the person that makes the Prius sunshades, console covers and armrests covers about making covers for the upper / lower gloveboxes to covers scratches. They seemed interested, but they probably need more request before they start making them. I have them in my 05 Prius in "Black Leather". They look and feel very expensive.

I have her console cover, armrests and hood in black leather. If she's making the glove box covers I'd be interested in a set in black leather. I love her stuff and the workmanship is great.

 

I wish there was a paint, (-maybe there's a nailpolish?) that would match the dash color that could cover up the annoying 1/4" scratch I've got. Maybe a Testor's Paint somewhere... has anyone already looked?

 

with our seat covers we got a little armrest cover that matched...

otherwise priushoods would have gotten our business too.

i kinda like the color and covering it up would be a shame...

oh, i didn't realize the scratch stood out that much. hm, that is definitely not pleasant.

 

Robin has started listing today the black leather glove box covers in her PriusHoods ebay store. I have ordered a set and can give more information when they arrive. All of her products are great, so I expect to like these too. Thanks to those who suggested this item to her.
