who I depressed the brake pedal, I feel it accelerate a little bit at first, then the brake start to working. is this normal? this cause some confuse when i depressed the brake pedal, since I am worrying about having depressed the accelerator.
Are you saying that when you press the brake pedal, the car momentarily accelerates? Does it do this always, or only going over bumps? Tom
It only happens to me when I have the cruise control set. It feels like it's accelerating but I watched the speedometer and I did not gain any speed.
I've experienced this also. I think it is just the perception you get when you are pressing on the brake but the car is still under power (the CC doesn't seem to cancle until you hit the brake kind of hard). Now I just cancel the CC with the stalk or tap the brake harder.
yes. it accelerates when i press the brake pedal and then the car start to slow down. it happened several times. the road is flat, and i didn't use cruise control.
If mine did that w/o me hitting the accelerator I would have it at the dealer immediately. Don't know what kind of safety systems the car has for this, but I would think that if the accelerator sensor is faulty it could be very dangerous.
you are right. it scared me, when it accelerates while pressing the brake. if it happen again. i will contact the dealer.
Not knowing exactly at what pedal position the cruise disengages, this would make sense that it would want to accelerate briefly as it feels a slight slowdown but disengages as you continue to further press on the pedal beyond the point where it disengages. Next time you may want to experiment with a quicker rate of brake application and see if you still notice that acceleration.
Over a bump I felt this; didn't have the cruise control engaged. Also get a very strange rumble and the sound of gears not meshing well when backing up on electric and motor starts up.
