    Hello,
    My name is Alan.
We don't even own a Prius and we have a story.
Late June we put a down to order a Prius V with Nav.
Here in Hawaii the Toyotas come from Japan.
The salesman told us that it will arrive the beginning of August.
He called two weeks after to let me know that everything was going good.
Well he called me 1 month after we put the down (late July) and he asked us if we ordered the light gray or dark gray interior because he shows that they have two on order.
He told me that the light interior was on the boat and that the dark interior was about 2 months away.
The wife wanted the dark gray interior.
I called the General Manager (who l found out is the Vice President) and told him how upset I was that I sold my truck in preparation for the Prius arrival and we are stuck for 2 more months with one car.
The VP looked into it and called me back.
He told me they called Japan and that they had the dark interior on the boat.
I told him that we will be patient and wait to see what was on the boat.
Well last week my salesman called me and said that he and the VP felt bad about the mix-up and told me that if the dark interior was not on the boat they will sell me the Prius V w/ the Advanced Technology Package for the cost of the Prius V w/ Nav only (about $2500 difference).
Tonight I stopped by the dealership to talk to my salesman about moving the state inspection sticker (the Hawaii guys know what I mean).
He told me that the vehicle is on the island and is being prepped.
My wife asked which one and he replied that they are just going to give us the Prius V with the ATP, because they are sure the one we ordered is not on the boat and they feel bad.
He told us that it will take a few days to prep the vehicle.
So it is down to a matter of days now.

    Sorry for the essay...

    Alan

Hi Alan, it sounds like you are getting a pretty good deal, ATP for the price of the Nav alone. My car has been on order since June also and I don't think I will see it for another month. Ours come from Japan too, in fact all Prius are manufactured in Japan at this time. Enjoy the new Prius and :welcome: to PC.

    Funny thing though.
When the wife and I went in the first time he told us that only the Park Assist works in Hawaii and everything else doesn't.
I don't know if this is true, but I'll find out in a few days.

    Thanks for the welcome...

Only the park assist works in Hawaii? That's really weird, park assist is the function most people don't use but some have posted they use it and like it. Let us know when you get the car if it has DRCC, LKA, and PCS installed. Maybe they figured without many freeways you wouldn't use the DRCC and LKA very much but the Pre-collision System would be of value no mater where you live.

    OK,
We picked up the Prius tonight and I noticed one thing...
The Lane Keep Assist is nowhere mentioned on the window sticker.
I also don't see the LKA button on the steering wheel.
    My package includes:
    Pre-Collision System
    Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
    Voice-Activated Nav System w/ Back-up monitor
    and Intelligent Park Assist

This car also does not have the Safety Connect or iPod kit built in (though Safety Connect is mentioned in the "quick reference guide" or what ever they call it).
I asked my salesman and he told me that Safety Connect is only available on the mainland, but I was curious to not see the button for it.
Tomorrow morning I am going to look for a born on date.
(I know production after August 1st includes both).

I really wanted the ipod kit at least.

You can probably order the iPod kit from somewhere. Maybe your dealer will get them in.

I shudder to think how much my dealer will charge for the ipod kit...
Seeing how they are the only Toyota dealership in Hawaii, they can charge whatever they want.
I'l probably just order from PriusChat store.
By the way, the Prius born on date is 07/09

Safety Connect and Ipod kit is part of a new package. I believe Aug 09 and afterward. It costs more $$$. I don't think it has anything to do with being a mainland model.

Everyone at Toyota Hawaii says, Safety Connect will not be available in Hawaii for a LOOOONG time.
We don't even get satellite radio here...

That's right, it's only for the lower 48 for the most part. Little bits of Canada here and there....

Good luck though, maybe they'll make it available sooner than expected.
