Since the PriusChat community is fairly large, I would think there's bound to be a few "gamers" in the crowd. In the book "Gran Turismo 4: Prima Official Game Guide", there is a reference to a 2002 MY Prius in Gran Turismo 4. It lists the car as not being available in arcade mode. This leads me to believe that it must be one of the "unlockable" cas players "win" by competing in some event. However, it does not list such an event for this car. Has anyone in the group located this Prius when playing GT4? If so, could you post a tip or two about where it can be found. Note that I am talking about the commercial version of the game, not the demo version Toyota distributed for a limited time in late 2003-2004. Thanks, Glenn
It's in the Used Car Showroom I (or is it II?). It's in the showroom with the late 90s cars. Also, I haven't found a GT4 guide yet! The Prima Guide for GT3 was very useful. The terms and how to properly tune a car gave me a new perspective on the game.
Re: Have you found the first gen (US) Prius in Gran Turismo Thanks for the info. Last night I went looking around in all the GT4 used car showrooms (Used Car Showroom I and II and the Historic Car Showroom). The classic Prius wasn't in any of them. I have noticed, however, that the "inventory" changes over GT4 time. It seems to me that cars are added to the showrooms. Perhaps some are taken away (sold) too. I haven't personally noticed that however. How long have you been playing GT4 (in GT4 days)? I am somewhere around day 300 (in GT4 time, not real time). Perhaps my classic Prius hasn't come up for sale yet. If you can tell me how long you've played GT4 (in its time scale) it will help me to know when to go shopping for a classic Prius. Thanks, Glenn
They change every week (GT4 time). Check back frequently. I regret that now cause there are cars in there that you can't buy in the new car showroom. Also, buying the car in Simulation Mode makes them available in Arcade Mode. Also look out for rare low mileage used cars. These have 10.0kms on them and the mileage will be in yellow font colour rather than black. I'm at Day 688. Save up some money cause on Day 694-700, several special black cars are available. The total cost of all of them is about $9M. I'll probably just buy the black Toyota GT-One car which is about $3M. Some of the cars that aren't available in the new car showroom include the Lotus Carlton, MB SLK 230 Kompressor, Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex, Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex Shuichio Shigeno Version, 1998 MB SL500 & SL600 (R129), 2000 Accord Euro R, 1988 Accord Coupe, Honda Integra Type-R (DC2), Prelude SiR, Prelude SiR S Spec, 1997 Toyota MR-2 G-Limited & GT-S, Carina ED 2.0X 4WS. Whew, that's all I can think of that's in my garage.
to get the old prius you have to buy it and then it will automatically show up in arcade mode along with the new prius (but you dont have to buy it) -jake
