And, I must add that I have visited with numerous Toyota dealerships in the Minneapolis/St Paul area and I have been completely satisfied. I like the new dashboard and almost everything with the Prius GIII. It does seem as though the GIII forum is mostly about complaints. Complaints about the car; complaints about salesman; complaints about the dealership, complaints about the regional offices of Toyota. I will stand up and tell you today that those complaints are not the rule. I think Toyota has improved the GIII Prius. And, I also think that most Toyota dealerships are doing the very best that they can. So, I will end this on a positive note vs. a negative one. I personally have had excellent service from Toyota.
I had a good experience with my dealership as well. Which was a relief because I had horrible experiences in the past. And I love the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually think this is a good place for people to discuss their complaints about the car. The Prius Team and Toyota seem to take a lot of the comments seriously. I have heard this site mentioned by Toyota reps in a few videos I saw on youtube about the Prius. I respect companies that utilize forums such as this to obtain feedback about their products.
Complaints can be hard to read, especially if there are so many. But they do lead to the eventual improvement of the vehicle, sales staff, dealership, etc.
I am in total agreement with you. Yes, there can be a "few" issues with particular dealerships, salesman, and even the vehicle itself. But, I'm sorry, the majority of folks that are purchasing this new GIII are pretty satisfied. The sales figures seem to be doing pretty good. And, again, I will say that I have been happy with the vehicle, the dealerships, and salesman from Toyota in the Chicago region.
I'm very glad to hear things have gone so well. I hope for two things given your experience: That all continues to go well and you only need to see the dealer for regular service! and If and when something goes wrong, you are able to report back to us on the experience. I think you are correct that sales speak volumes about customer satisfaction, but the forum does a huge service not only to fellow Prius owners, but also to prospective purchasers and Toyota. Thin, of this: Something that could cause a high level of dissatisfaction may be addressed in a simple post on PriusChat, as opposed to having it ignored by an upset owner or pourly understood by a Toyota dealership.
