I had a piece come off from the undercarriage of my 2005 Prius. Part number 51451-47010. It's maybe 5"x12" black plastic. Looks like it was just a cover and doesn't seem important. It got pretty trashed and would need to be replaced if it's required. Is it important?
Would that be the black plastic piece that runs along both doors under the car ? About a foot wide and four feet long ? Toyota likes plastic nuts to hold the covers on. The long ones fill with dirt and droop until they drop or snag on something. I filled mine with expanding foam and bought some steel nuts to hold them on. Their purpose? Probably aerodynamics under the car.
Plastic yes, but smaller and under the front of the car behind the bumper. 12" long or so by about 5" wide
