Ok first of all, I need to make sure that I have not been mistaken all this time. Lane Keep Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Intelligent Parking Assist are the three things that conform what we call the Advance Technology Package, correct? Also, all of the things above so far have only been available for the Prius V, correct? Now, take a look at this Toyota Prius Hybrid - 2010 Models: Prius II, Prius III, Prius IV, Prius V If you look at it closely, you will notice "Steering wheel-mounted navigation, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) [11] and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) [12] controls [10]" is listed under Prius III, IV, and V! am I just that absent minded, or that wasnt there before? The weird thing is, this "Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) [11]" and this "Intelligent Parking Assist (IPA) [13]" are listed independently, but this time only under Prius V. Can somebody explain what's going on?
I think what Toyota does with their brochures and the like, is if any one part of something is available for any model they include it with a footnote about restrictions. I think the reason it's showing the AT package components is because of the steering wheel navigation controls and the NAV unit. That you can get with on the III and IV. So Toyota get's your hopes up until you read the footnotes. Keep looking you'll find the corresponding footnotes denoting which equipment is really available with each model. Steering wheel-mounted navigation is available on III and IV but I do not believe DRCC LKA or IPA, the AT package, is available. I'd love to be wrong about this, but Toyota bundles information the same way they bundle automobile packages.
Well on my Hard Copy Prius brochure those Numbers next to the features correspond to tiny, badly printed, footnotes which will say things like LKA assist not available on II,III or IV.
No, It's not anyone's guess. As of now, Toyota only offers the AT package on the Prius V. (in the U.S. Market, at least) As we have seen in many other instances (from recommened fuel, to valet keys, etc.) Toyota is prone to some inaccuracies in their documentation (as I am sure other car makers are as well). We have seen repeatedly, and have heard directly from Toyota on this blog (Toyota's Marketing team) that AT is only available on the V for the 2010 model year.
Alright, guys, alright. I ll accept it. Really sucks not being able to trust the main website though...
Honda makes the same mistakes. There was a minor riot in the Acura forums when the website clearly showed a remote keyfob controlling the windows but the car had no such option.
Either the adaptive cruise control and LKA are available on II and III in other countries or Toyota was going to offer them as options on the U.S. Prius IIs and IIIs but decided not to or they're just typos.
I really think it's much simpler. What's confusing people is that The Solar Roof Package, and The AT Package include the Navigation package. So Toyota lumped all 3 packages together meaning: Get the III-The Navigation Package is available, with steering wheel controls, Get The IV: Solar Package Available which will Include Navigation, Get the V: AT features plus Nav Package. Putting all 3 packages of "features" in one paragraph is confusing. However, AT features are NOT available on III or IV. It becomes more confusing with the online, it's clearer with a hardcopy brochure as they offer graphics that denote exactly what packages include what for each model level.
I have to agree with that. Considering TOYOTA.COM only advertises ONE type of door sill enhancement, and the official TOYOTA PRIUS BROCHURE only advertises ONE type of door sill enhancement, and that the available port-installed options only included ONE type of door sill enhancement... I'd say that it's complete BS that I chose, spent money on, and was expecting THOSE door sill enhancements, but was given something else that was NOT advertised anywhere.
Nola, Sorry if I missed another post elsewhere, but what do you mean? Did you pay for a door sill 'upgrade', and not get the lighted sills that many of us got? If so, was it a factory, port, or dealer installed one? Also, do you have a picture and price so others can learn to avoid (or order) the one that you got?
You never informed us if you got it corrected. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...0-non-illuminated-door-sill-enhancements.html
While everything you say makes sense, I think you missed an important point of my OP post: in the link I provided of the Toyota website, there is a graphic chart which "denote exactly what packages include what for each model level" (im borrowing your words because I cant put it any better) lol
Yes but unfortunately in the U.S, you guys operate by regions and sadly SET and GST haven't exactly got the best reputations (there are plenty of PriusChat threads on how they added extra crap like 3M film, undercoating, some protection kit, and any other accessories they can get away with)
