I cannot figure out how to change the GPS while the vehicle is moving. I understand it is a safety issue, but when I am riding with someone, it is very frustrating not to be able to change or program the GPS without stopping. Certainly there is something I'm not figuring out. Thanks for assistance.
Sorry, didn't make myself clear, I am not doing the programming, the passenger is. I certainly know better than that. Thanks!
you are right this is some stupid govt agency sticking there nose into our business. it is moronic having a passenger and not being able to change your route unless you pull over. if anyone knows what agency did this please advise the rest of us. but here is what someone told me to do. let us know if this works as i am installing a navigation unit soon. The override is controlled by a single wire coming out of the back of the navigation unit (the radio). All you have to do is ground the wire (connect it to any negative grounding site on the car) and it will override the need to stop, etc.
Exactly which stupid government agency are your referring to??? I think that this is a Toyota decision. After all, you can buy a Garmin Nuvi which is made for use in automobiles and make changes to everything while moving. Keith
Has anyone done it? What color is the wire? What is the procedure to access the back of the radio? TIA Cool
