I have a Prius II (2010) on the water right now. I selected the XM as a Port Installed Accessory. Has anyone else done this? If so, is the XM receiver separate from the factory installed stereo? If it is, where is it located? If the XM radio replaces the original factory radio for Prius II, can you tell me who makes the XM radio? Is it JBL? Thanks.
III and up it's included. II is SAT-ready and includes the antenna, meaning you need the tuner to make it functional. Toyota Prius Hybrid - 2010 Models: Prius II, Prius III, Prius IV, Prius V
It can be installed at port if you ask the dealer to code this before the car unloads. Note - this will increase lead time between port and dealer.
Thanks all. I am having it installed at the Port. Just not sure if it will essentially have the same radio as Prius III or if it will be the Prius II radio + an additional XM tuner. Thought someone else might have ordered a Prius II and selected the XM as a port opition and could tell me. If you did, let me know. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. When my Prius II comes in, I will post how the Port Installed Version is installed.
I have a 2010 Prius II and had the XM receiver added by the dealer. It was installed under the front passenger's seat. The capability, including steering wheel controls, is built in. There's no swapping of the radio. See upcoming separate question regarding reception.
Can someone please post a picture of the satellite tuner in a 2010 Prius? I'm interested to see if it's still one of the Directed Electronics "DirectConnect" tuners. As mentioned above, it should be located under the driver's seat. Thanks in advance.
I have a Prius II. Is there a wire underneath the driver seat that I can connect the factory installed roof sat antenna to a XM radio I am able to swap between cars? This would allow me not to install the small magnetic sat antenna that comes with the XM radio I use in my other cars.
