Rick: Do you have any close-up pictures of the clear applique? I've ordered one for my 2010 (Blue Ribbon Metallic), and I'm wondering about how "loud" the design might be.

Also: Aren't you planning on getting the illuminated door sills? Where? When? How much?

    A Priori,

I ordered the door sills for mine, after asking my dealer to print out the directions for self installation, and asked for them to be port installed. What I did not know about the illuminated door sills is that they are for all 4 doors, and not just the front, as I had assumed.

I am paying $359 for them, installed.

Thanks for the pic, I was looking for a shot like that, to compare to my pic. I think I've decided to keep the black bumper protector. I agree with you, it breaks up the look of the rather fat monochrome back bumper.

I may have one on the Gray car in my Picasa album (Detroit). I will be installing the illuminated door sills myself as I couldn't get pricing firmed up before committing to my PIO's.

They are for all four doors but I believe it is only the front ones that light up. The rear ones are just that stainless look w/o illumination.

I'm getting them as well... After seeing them in the car in person at the NYC Prius Connection even in February I really knew I wanted to put them in. Back then I was more hoping they would come with either a Prius V or Advanced Tech package bundled in but oh well...

Here's two more pictures from a distance where you can see the faint image of the word Prius...

I ended up going the exact same route, though I thought it was only for the front doors. I can't remember what I paid, though I know it was in the $300s installed.

    Thanks for the help!

That ought to be just fine! Thanks.

Great! That's what I thought I remembered seeing in Detroit, too.

Yep, I think I like the look of it on the Blue Ribbon Metallic. Not very obvious, but very protective.

I think I like the look of the black on gold, but I prefer seeing more blue and not less blue -- but that's just me!

I too missed the port Installed option date to get this installed, I was told today. However, since the service side has not yet seen the details on this, I am unable to get a price from them to install this. If they are charging more than $139 to replace the sills (making the costs over the $359 list), I will not order them, and will have a very bad taste in my mouth about the car, and the dealership.

I may order them later, and do it myself, but refuse to pay more than that for what should be a very easy, simple install for a tech with the right tools. I'll let you know.

I'm glad you posted this ggood... After looking at the pics several times, I now want the black protector for my incoming Blizzard Pearl. :)

You're welcome. I got it off Toyota's website.

I wish the NW dealers had been as "not up to date" :) Every car I looked at in 3 states had the decal film port installed. Initially, just the $69 price annoyed me. But I was even more annoyed when I saw the nice sturdy protector for about half the price (I like the look too, esp with darker colors). I happened to talk to the guy at Sportwing (Cleveland Toyota) about something else and he warned me that if I put one protector over the other, it might not stay on as well because the adhesive works best on the actual bumper. Even if it would stick, installing black one over decal looked silly to me when I tried holding one over the other. About 1/3 of the word sticks out and looks silly. Not going to try and remove the film, at least for now, since I also have a CRV which will continue to be the haul it vehicle for while.

Make them fix it or not charge you for the wrong one. Give them a choice only if you can live with it. I for one would have them take off this black garbage and put the nice clear Prius decal on. Hozz
