I want interior cloth (not leather) and the Solar Ventilation System. However, cloth requires a Prius III, and the Prius III isn't available with the Solar Ventilation System in my area (SF Bay Area). Have you had a similar problem with forced options or unavailable packages in your area? What did you do in response? Would it be worth it to travel out of state to get the option you want? Any people do this? Any experiences that you could share, so I can replicate them or avoid completely? I'm looking to upgrade my dad's 91 Chevy (read: $4500 clunker) with a 2010 Prius III with Solar Roof Navigation in Blue Ribbon Metallic (and any color cloth fabric). I don't want any additional forced options, but wouldn't mind paint protection film, wheel locks and the standard carpet floor mats & cargo mat. PS: I'm still enjoying my 2005 Gen2 Prius.
I was in the same boat as you - In SF bay area, wanting solar roof but not the leather seats. I went through Dianne who snagged the color / interior combo I wanted which was on its way to Arizona. A few weeks later she was picking me up at LAX and a couple hours later I was on my way. She's just a couple minutes from the port. No local dealer I talked with could do such an inter-state swap. No forced options. Recommended.
Diane is a great resource and one you can count on. Dianne's SoCal available cars for July - updated daily
